Undergraduate student Marianne Sytnyk brought her passion for animal science to Sweden. She is currently in Uppsala as part of a bilateral exchange between the University of Saskatchewan and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU).

Marianne Sytnyk

Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, 3rd year,
Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Uppsala, Sweden

I am majoring in animal science at the University of Saskatchewan and I am currently studying at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in Uppsala, Sweden, on a bilateral exchange. I chose to study abroad because this experience fits well with my course schedule at the U of S and it is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Through my studies at SLU, I have been given the opportunity to be actively involved in research and design, and often even carry out studies related to animal science.

Studying abroad has been a truly amazing and unforgettable experience!

Photo of a hikers’ cabin. Cabins are common on the many hiking paths around Uppsala. Hiking has been a great way for Sytnyk to enjoy the outdoors, meet new friends and have Swedish BBQs.
