...of What Once Was

This corner of the campus no longer looks the same as it did in 1959, when the photo was taken. In fact, all the buildings pictured here are gone.

This photograph is from the collection of the university landscape architects Justice and Webb.

From left to right the buildings are: the Virus Laboratory Building/J.S. Fulton Laboratory; Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science Building; a collection of wooden sheds; and the oldest of the group, the Power House.

The Fulton Building, located on what is now the grassy area in front of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, was the last of the pictured buildings to remain standing. It was demolished in 1988.
