Athletics have always been a part of life at the University of Saskatchewan, and this action photo features an Interfaculty football match played in the mid-1930s.

By end of 1910s soccer, rugby (later football), track and field, tennis, fencing and hockey were all present on campus.

Intramural football was a popular activity for decades and was described in the 1935-36 Handbook as the “premier fall sport of the Varsity.”

The Interfaculty leagues were open to all colleges and organized at the beginning of each term.  The Men’s Athletic Board supplied the equipment.
