A.P. Arnason

This 1929 photo shows A.P. Arnason of the Division of Entomology, Science Service, Canada Department of Agriculture in Saskatoon, dusting a field of sweat clover with calcium arsenate.

He balances the pole, which bounces at every step and shakes the arsenical on the plants. The target is the bertha armyworm.

The field was situated just east of the College Building, which can be seen in the top left corner. The photograph is part of a large album found in the Entomological Society of Saskatchewan Collection, University Archives.
